Ras Al Khaimah’s (RAK) Al Hamra aims to position itself as the leading destination for weddings and lifestyle offerings as the emirate makes strides towards becoming a global tourism destination.

“Al Hamra recognises the potential of becoming a premier wedding destination, given our luxurious hospitality offerings, waterfront MICE facility, scenic locations, and world-class leisure and entertainment attractions,” said Benoy Kurien, Group CEO of Al Hamra in an exclusive interview with Arabian Business.

He further highlighted that Al Hamra “hosted numerous high-profile weddings that saw complete buyouts of hotel keys and services.”

Kurien explains that what sets Al Hamra apart from its competitors is the blend of luxury hospitality, premium residential neighborhoods, upscale retail, and world-class leisure and entertainment offerings.

Al Hamra prides itself on offering “a distinctive blend of attractions and amenities that cater to a diverse range of investors, residents, and tourists,” he said.

The region’s first integrated gaming resort piques investor interest

Recently, RAK has garnered significant attention, with the unveiling of the Wynn Resort, which has piqued investor interest. Moreover, Al Hamra boasts a cluster of renowned international hospitality brands such as Waldorf Astoria, The Ritz-Carlton, among others.

Kurian addressed the development, “Following an influx of new entrants, a massive transformation of the Emirate's, hospitality, and real estate projects is on the horizon – including the launch of the region’s first integrated gaming resort,” he said.

Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort

Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort is also set to open its doors to the public later this month with the aim to further solidify the destination’s position as a premier wedding destination, the CEO revealed.

Kurian unveiled a “strong pipeline” of upcoming residential, hospitality and leisure projects.

Upcoming Al Hamra projects:

  • Waterfront residential project
  • Branded residences project
  • Beach boardwalk
  • Exclusive beach club in partnership with Rikas Hospitality

When asked about how the destination ensures the interest of both domestic and international tourists, Kurian said, “Al Hamra employs a multi-faceted approach to attract both domestic and international tourists. Our fully integrated destinations feature world-class hospitality offerings, unique residential products, leisure attractions, dining options, and entertainment venues to appeal to a wide range of travellers and investors.”

“Al Hamra’s location in the three-mile growth corridor of Ras Al Khaimah further contributes to its success in attracting tourists and investors, with one-third of the world’s population just four hours’ flight time away,” he added.

The destination has several launches and projects currently under construction including Falcon Island, Marina Residences Phase 3 and the previously mentioned Sofitel Al Hamra and residential projects.

“The group has an ambitious development pipeline that includes several exciting projects poised to enhance the appeal of Al Hamra as a leading integrated tourism destination, as well as the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah,” Boasted Kurien.

The CEO revealed that the destination target markets includes Western Europe, CIS (Commonwealth of Independant States) countries, GCC and the Indian Subcontinent.

“Al Hamra proudly hosts residents from over 100 nationalities, marking a substantial contribution to the Emirate’s demographic diversity,” he said.

Investor interest surges in RAK

On Wednesday, Arabian Business reported that RAK is attracting strong investor interest and is poised to undergo massive transformation.

Looking ahead, Kurien highlighted Al Hamra’s five-year plan, explaining a three-pronged approach to position itself as “the creator of premier lifestyle experiences, quality products and world-class services in the Northern Emirates.”

“In line with the Emirate’s 2030 vision, Al Hamra continues to build on its legacy of bringing the firsts and bests of lifestyle developments and experiences to Ras Al Khaimah, bolstering the Emirate’s status as a desirable place to live, work, and invest,” he concluded.
