Ras Al Khaimah; September xx, 2019: Manar Mall conducted an open-day health fair in association with the Ras Al Khaimah Ministry of Health & Prevention and Life Pharmacy, the leading retail pharmacy in UAE.

The health fair was hosted under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of Ras Al Khaimah Medical District, and in collaboration with the RAK Medical & Health Sciences University.

Keeping in line with the theme of the annual World Pharmacists Day – ‘Safe and effective medicines for all’ - the event highlighted the key role that pharmacists play in protecting patient safety through improved medicine.

Benoy Kurien, Group CEO of Al Hamra, said: “As part of our social responsibility and welfare activities to promote health awareness and wellness, we hosted one of the most important health events at Manar Mall for the community. We continuously aim to support the hard-working community living and working in the Emirate by offering them access to medical professionals and complimentary check-ups through such events.”

Visitors to Manar Mall could test for blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol levels as well as BMI to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension, which are among the leading healthcare concerns.

The event also offered pre-stroke monitoring to address cardiovascular diseases. Specialists and paramedical staff were deputed at the health fair to provide consultation on Autism, ADHD and Osteoporosis. Skin therapists onsite addressed a range of skin concerns in addition to experts offering evaluations for a variety of complex and nonhealing wounds.

As part of the awareness drive, free supplement samples and brochures promoting the importance of healthy lifestyle were distributed to the mall visitors.
